Mayor’s Advisory Committee for People with Disabilities Meeting Minutes Meeting Date: Tuesday, March 19, 2019 Start Time: 12 p.m. End Time: 1 p.m. Location: City Hall 2nd Floor Conference Room Purpose: Regular scheduled meeting Attendance: Dalita Meyer, Laura Stoltenburg, Steven Richman, Tina Kenser, Becca Wells, Allison Schmitt, Mendy Jones Excused absence: Doris Stusiak, Cindy Kirschman, Nancy Kelsey, Tyler Goldade, Eric Vetter, Tom Wanttie Absent: Dawn Brush, Gwen Fischbach, Mike Gast, Deb Kambel, Lance Sigdestad, and Nicole Nelson 1. Standing Items 1.1 Any additions to agenda? Snow removal 1.2 Review and approve minutes from February 2019 Meeting Becca first and Laura second to approve the minutes. All approved. 1.3 Review and approve Treasurer’s report from March 2019. Laura met with the city office. We received $3,500 from the city this year. Some of this will be designated for the interpreter of approximately $500. $200 went to the scholarship program to increase it from $300 or $500. General balance of $5,898.59. There is a discrepancy between the treasure report and the financial report maintained by the city. Mendy made the motion to approve the treasure report with second from Tina. All approve. 2. Committee Reports 2.1 BAD – Becca reported that they have a meeting Monday the 24th at Aspire. The reminders have been sent out to all the teachers. The event will be April 26th. 2.2 Partners in Community Pride – No report. 2.3 Transportation – No report 2.4 Education Enhancement Award – No report needed at this time 2.5 NDEAM - The event will be sometime the beginning of October The proposal has been submitted. Will have Jason DeShaw as the presenter. Looking for some sponsors to offset the cost. 2.6 ADA Anniversary Celebration – No report. 3. Old Business 3.1 March Non-Profit Month Business After Hours Event Update/Wrap-up - The event was moved to March 21st due to inclement weather last week. A motion was made Becca to purchase a $20 gift certificate to the Red Rooster for a door prize. Second by Allison. Approved by all 3.2 Update on Absences/Liaison Status. 3.3 Committee List Update. A paper list of committee was handed out at the last meeting. Need to send out the list and have the 7 committee members send out the results 3.4 4. New Business 4.1 Discussion of Interpreter Costs vs. Budget Estimate - Laura and Lance discussed looking at different options with a Relay service that would be connected through the Internet. May try this option in the April meeting. 4.2 Snow removal – discussed that there still are issues with snow removal due to the large amount of snow. 5. Review Upcoming Dates – NAMI Family Support Group – 2nd Monday of month, 6:30-7:30, Fireside Room, Bethlehem Lutheran Church NAMI Aberdeen Affiliate Meeting – 3rd Monday of month, 5:30 – 7:00, Location TBA NAMI Connections Peer Support Group – 1st & 3rd Wednesday of each month, 6:00-7:00, ARCC NAMI Night – 3rd Thursday of month, 5:30 -8:30, Red Rooster Coffee House  SDFBVI Dinner in the Dark – Tuesday, April 23, 2019, NSU Centennial Rooms Barrier Awareness Day – Friday, April 26, 2019 6.
