CITY OF ALBANY COMMISSION ON HUMAN RIGHTS Meeting Minutes April 21, 2022 Opening: The April 21, 2022, meeting was called to order at 6:04 PM, via Zoom, by Vice Chair Rosie Love. Present: Chairperson Aaron Moore; Vice Chairperson Rosie Love; Secretary Thomas Richards, Commissioner Natisha Alexander, Commissioner Valerie Alexander-Moseley; Commissioner Alister Rubenstein, Commissioner Kate Shelly, Tolani Elumade (City of Albany) Raisi Mobele (City of Albany) Absent: Commissioner Celia Evers, Commissioner Thomas Mueller Quorum: Yes Approval of Prior Meeting Minutes: Yes. Business from the Prior Meeting: Chairperson Moore and Commissioner Shelly informed the Commission that the Annual Awards Ceremony would be scheduled for June, with information circulated to the Commissioners in May. Vice-Chairperson Love advised that the Equity Agenda Annual Report had been submitted and approved by the City Council. New Business: Secretary Richards noted that the New York State Bar Association’s Task Force on Racism, Social Equity, and the Law was to present a program on the legal, economic, and social issues surrounding reparations, with a link to the video circulated to the Commission after the event. Discussion followed on future potential programming, future meetings of the Commission, and the work of the Commission in general.
