CITY OF ALBANY COMMISSION ON HUMAN RIGHTS Meeting Minutes May 19, 2022 Opening: The May 19, 2022, meeting was called to order at 6:05 PM, via Zoom, by Vice Chair Rosie Love. Present: Chairperson Aaron Moore; Vice Chairperson Rosie Love; Secretary Thomas Richards, Commissioner Valerie Alexander-Moseley; Commissioner Celia Evers; Commissioner Thomas Mueller; Commissioner Kate Shelly, Tolani Elumade (City of Albany) Absent: Commissioner Natisha Alexander, Commissioner Alister Rubenstein Quorum: Yes Approval of Prior Meeting Minutes: Yes. Business from the Prior Meeting: Commissioner Thomas Mueller was welcomed to the Commission. Chairperson Moore and Commissioner Shelly advised that the Annual Awards Ceremony is scheduled for Friday, June 10, 2022, at 5 p.m. at City Hall. Invitations had been circulated; Commissioner Shelly to coordinate with Executive Director Elumade on the run of show, catering, and other event details. Chair Moore proposed that names be given to the respective awards, with potential names to be circulated after the meeting via email for the Commissioners’ review. Secretary Richards noted that the New York State Bar Association’s Task Force on Racism, Social Equity, and the Law presented a program on the legal, economic, and social issues surrounding reparations.
