CITY OF ALBANY COMMISSION ON HUMAN RIGHTS Meeting Minutes City Hall September 15, 2022 Opening: The September 15, 2022, meeting was called to order at 6:21 PM by Chair Aaron Moore. Present: Chairperson Aaron Moore; Vice Chairperson Rosie Love; Secretary Thomas Richards; Commissioner Natisha Alexander; Commissioner Celia Evers; Commissioner Thomas Mueller; Commissioner Kate Shelly; Tolani Elumade (City of Albany); Raisi Mobele (City of Albany Absent: Commissioner Valerie Alexander-Moseley Quorum: Yes Approval of Prior Meeting Minutes: Deferred until October. Business from the Prior Meeting: Interim Executive Director Elumade reported that the 2022 Equity Agenda Report would be circulated to the commissioners for their review and approval within the next week before submission to the Common Council on September 21, 2022. After discussion, a motion was carried that Interim Executive Director Elumade request from the Common Council that the submission deadline be extended beyond September 21, 2022. Chair Moore led a discussion on planning for the annual fall public event, including a review of past events, the role of the Commission in producing these events, and considerations for scheduling the event. New Business: Vice Chair Rosie Love announced that she was stepping down as Vice Chair, effective immediately, but would continue to serve as a Commissioner. The Commission unanimously expressed its thanks to Commissioner Love for her distinguished service as Vice Chair. 1 After discussion on the role of the Vice Chair, and a survey of whether any members were interested in serving as Vice Chair, a motion was duly made, seconded, and carried to elect Commissioner Thomas Mueller as Vice Chair.
