DISPOSITION OF CASES
PROJECT # 00381
Property Address 191 North Pearl Street
Owner Rudy Lynch
Historic District Clinton Avenue/North Pearl Street/Clinton Square
After discussing the concept proposal to construct a new four-story residential building on a vacant corner lot, the
Commission made the following recommendations and comments-
• Provide perspective drawings from the corner showing the proposed building with the existing buildings to the
north and east of the site;
• Proposed structure does not appear to be a residenital building adjacent to historic structures but appears to
be more commercial/institutional;
• Proportion of proposed windows and spacing between the third floor window headers and roofline on the
center block of the front, side and rear elevations is not compatible;
• Consider lining up the height of the windows with the neighboring northern building;
• Revise the prortions of the proposed windows on the center blocks;
• Provide further information about the propoed treatment for the land along the north property line;
• Provide further details at a later date about window treatments, trim, sills, lintels and colors;
• Bring the building up to the North Pearl Street property line and Wilson Street Property line to meet typical
setbacks; and
• Move flanking corners forward to increase the center block recess.
Speaker: Cara Macri, Historic Albany Foundation- Supportive
