ACTION: Approved Motion to ACTION: Erin Tobin Second: Jack McEneny Vote: 6-0 Graceland Cemetery Receiving Vault Application(s) LM 0007 Property Address 680 Delaware Avenue Owner Graceland Cemetery After discussing the proposed nomination of the Graceland Cemetery Receiving Vault to the State and National Register of Historic Places, the Commission voted in support of the Nomination. ACTION: Support Nomination Motion to ACTION: Erin Tobin Second: Marilyn Kaplan Vote: 6-0 PROJECT # 00557 Application(s) COA 1123, 1124, 1125, 1126, 1127 Property Address 72, 180, 233, 325-327, 331-333, 337 Clinton Avenue Owner Home Leasing Historic District Clinton Avenue/North Pearl Street/Clinton Square 200 HENRY JOHNSON BOULEVARD | ALBANY, NEW YORK 12210 | (518) 465-6066 Historic Resources Commission Meeting Disposition March 7, 2024 After discussing the request to construct 10 new row-house structures and rehabilitate an existing vacant structure, the Commission made the following recommendations-  72 Clinton Avenue- o The applicant must provide more information on the foundation finish; and o The applicant should consider adding end brackets or a return to the proposed cornice.  180 Clinton Avenue- o The windows must feature an exterior trim or casing; o The cornices should be revised to appear as four individual cornices; o The applicant must revise the proportions of the two-story bay windows, the bottom of the bays should be raised to be in line with the top of the door trim; o The applicant should consider increasing the height of the proposed sash windows; o The applicant should consider adding trim to the first floor windows; o The applicant should consider adding variation to the bay window designs; and o The applicant should consider changing the designs of the proposed entry door and door surround trim in order to add variation to each building.  233 Clinton Avenue- o The windows must feature exterior trim or casing. Use the building at 235 Clinton Avenue as a reference; o The applicant should consider adding lintels to the proposed window openings;  325-327, 331-333 Clinton Avenue o Buildings should be made to look different o The applicant should consider changing or adding additional colors in order to add variation to the buildings; o The applicant should consider revising the proposed building design, so the paired buildings appear to be individual structures;  337 Clinton Avenue o Applicant must provide more information and details on the existing storefront and existing details. The applicant must revise the proposed drawing and renderings to accurately depict the existing condition of the storefront and the proposed rehabilitation of the storefront; o The applicant must provide more detailed interior and exterior photographs of the existing storefront; o Applicant must provide more information and details on the existing cornice; o The Commissions recommends that the applicant consider removing come of the aluminum panels covering the cornice in order inspect the existing condition and document the any historic fabric and details; o The applicant must correct the proposed rendering to accurately depict the building and historic details. The rendering should correctly show any historic fabric and details that will be retained and repaired; o If possible, the existing 2-over-2 wood sash windows should be retained and repaired. If the windows cannot be retained, the new windows should match the existing 2-over-2 configuration; o  All buildings o The applicant must provide detailed sections drawings of the proposed new construction; o The applicant must provide details for the proposed railings; o The applicant should review all renderings to confirm they are correct and to scale; o The applicant must provide section drawings of the proposed stoops to show proposed finished and side panel details; o The applicant should consider slightly recessing the vestibule entry doors or provide photographic evidence of similar conditions from historic structures in the historic district that supports the proposed door placement as shown in the floor plans; o The applicant should consider adding a break between each building cornice or variation to the cornice design to indicate each individual building; o The applicant should consider adding a break line in the foundation treatments for paired and multi- buildings sites to delineate between the buildings; Page 2 of 3 Historic Resources Commission Meeting Disposition March 7, 2024 o The applicant should consider using additional colors for the foundation finish; o The application should consider revising the proposed elevations to provide more articulation of individual buildings and variety in the proposed building designs; Page 3 of 3
