BUILDING, GROUNDS, CEMETERY, RECYCLE COMMITTEE January 13, 2026 The regular meeting of the Building, Grounds, Cemetery Recycle Committee was called to order by Chairperson Bert Hefty at 6:30 p.m. at the Albany Village Hall, 206 North Water Street, Albany, WI. Members present were: Hefty, Kimberly Klein and Tonya Stephan. Absent: David King. Also present: Lonnie Gill. Proof of posting was verified. VILLAGE BURNING (OPEN BURNING DISCUSSION): Much discussion on open burning ordinance; possibly removing burn barrels; work on a date to have a public hearing. RECYCLE CENTER: The revenue numbers look decent right now; further meetings for discussions about garbage pickup. CEMETERY MOWING: The cemetery mowing contract rates are increasing in 2026 which would make the contract amount $14,500; discussion about hiring a part time summer mowing position for the cemetery; Stephan suggested getting some other bids. CONCERNS OF RECYCLING WORKERS: None ANNOUNCEMENT AND FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS: Setting a date for a public hearing regarding burning; bids for cemetery mowing.
