Plans Commission

PUBLIC HEARING / PLANS COMMISSION January 5, 2023 The regular meeting of the Plans Commission was called to order at 6:32 p.m. by President Kim Blumer in the Albany Village Hall. Members present were: Blumer, Michelle Monson, Larry Ommodt, David King and Paul Rhyner. Absent: Eileen Althaus. Also present: Derek Broughton. Proof of posting was verified. MINUTES: Motion by Rhyne, seconded by Monson, to approve the minutes of the previous meeting as printed. Carried. PUBLIC HEARING – CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT 200 OAK STREET: Broughton was present to request a conditional use permit for the property he recently purchased at 200 Oak Street. He would like to use it as an AirBnB. The lower level used to be the book store and the upper is already set up as an apartment. He has spoken with our building inspector, Flannery, to get the requirements up to code; the downstairs would be a studio and the upstairs will be a one bedroom. The plan is to have the first floor an AirBnB and potentially have the upstairs an AirBnB if he does not plan to keep that as an apartment. He will continue to work with Flannery to meet code requirements. Motion by Monson, seconded by Rhyner, to give Broughton a conditional use permit at 200 Oak Street to have an AirBnB for overnight guests contingent he meets all the codes. Carried. FENCE PLANS: There were none. CHICKEN PERMITS: There were none. FUTURE ITEMS: The committee would like to check the property located at 704 Sixth Street to see if a fence plan had been applied for and if Flannery followed up on the business in the shed.
