STREETS AND UTILITY COMMITTEE
February 6th, 2023
The regular meeting of the Street and Utility Committee was called to order at 6:30 p.m. in the Albany
Village Hall by Chairperson Larry Nipple. Members present were: Nipple, Kim Blumer, Roald Henderson
and Jim Mauerman. Also present: Lonnie Gill, Ex-Officio and Kiera Depies of Mead and Hunt.
Proof of posting verified.
MINUTES: Motion by Blumer, seconded by Mauerman to approve the previous minutes as printed.
SEWER COLLECTION FACILITY PLAN: Depies of Mead and Hunt said all manholes inspection is complete
and that Mead and Hunt are working on a plan.
PHOSPHORUS TRADING PAYMENT: Reimers’s Ok’d payment on or before June 1st, 2023 with
consumer price index adjustment. Motion by Blumer, seconded by Mauerman to pay Reimer’s. Carried.
O&M MANUAL SUBMISSION TO DNR FOR PROJECT CLOSE OUT: Paperwork was signed and sent to
DNR, waiting for DNR approval.
SUBMIT THE WATER QUALITY TRADING REPORT: Depies reported this has been submitted to DNR.
2023 EQUIPMENT RATES: Gill presented the list of hourly use charges for village equipment. Motion by
Blumer, seconded by Nipple to accept 2023 equipment rates. Carried.
TREE CITY USA: Gill completed paperwork and is sending to the State, we will receive approximately
$2000.00 for our parks.
LIGHTED CROSSWALK SIGN: This item came from the Police & Fire Committee Meeting; traffic at Main
& Water St. (Hwy 59) do not yield to pedestrians. After discussion, Blumer made motion, seconded by
Nipple to table this. Gill to look into signage. Carried.
TRAINING: Motion by Blumer, seconded by Mauerman to send Blumer to Fon du Lac for “Government
Affairs” on Feb 16, 2023 in the amount of $80.00, Gill to Lacrosse for “Wisconsin Rural Waters” on April
4th – April 7th not to exceed $1100.00; and Gertsch to Madison on February 14th 16th and 21st – 23rd for
his water license in the amount of $475.00. Carried.
ANNOUNCEMENTS AND FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS: Gill to look into replacing one of the trucks with cost
estimates. Pricing of lighted crosswalk signs.
Motion by Blumer, seconded by Mauerman, to adjourn. Carried.
