POLICE, FIRE AND LICENSE COMMITTEE December 23, 2025 The regular meeting of the Police, Fire and License Committee was called to order by Chairperson Bert Hefty at 6:35 p.m. in the Albany Village Hall, 206 North Water Street, Albany, WI. Members present were; Fred Johnson, Michelle Monson, Tonya Stephen. Ex-officio: Chief Brian Hauri and Chief Robert Ritter. Also present: Alan Hodkiewicz, Kim Blumer, Abel Schultz, and Scott Roth. Absent: Dennis Atkinson, and Deanna Hubert Proof of posting was verified. MINUTES: Motion by Johnson, seconded by Stephan, to approve the previous minutes as printed. Carried. PUBLIC APPEARANCES: None FIRE CHIEF UPDATE: Chief Hauri reviewed the annual update report with the committee. The department is working on new contracts for fire protection and EMR services for each participating municipality and would like to have that in place by October. All fire inspections are currently done by an outside agency but looking into bringing back in-house. FIRE DEPARTMENT OFFICERS: Motion by Johnson, seconded by Stepan, to approve the fire department officer elections as follows: Fire Chief: Brian Hauri; Assistant Fire Chief #1: Mark Reidel; Assistant Fire Chief #2: Sterling Evert; Captains: Nate Phillips, Bruce Walz, Brandon Williams; Secretary: Bruce Walz and Treasurer: Brandon Williams. All ayes. Motion carried. POLICE CHIEF UPDATE: The department had two officers graduate from the academy in December. Wright is currently doing field training and Leonhard is helping with office work until training starts. Both officers will be attending breath specialist training in April OPERATOR’S LICENSES: None TRAINING: None.
