STREET AND UTILITY COMMITTEE February 5, 2024 The regular meeting of the Street and Utility Committee was called to order at 6:30 p.m. in the Albany Village Hall by Chairperson Larry Nipple. Members present were: Nipple, Kim Blumer, Roald Henderson, and Jim Mauerman. Also present: Lonnie Gill, Ex-Officio and Andrew Skog of Mead & Hunt. Absent: Eileen Althaus Proof of posting was verified. MINUTES: Motion by Blumer, seconded by Mauerman, to approve the previous minutes as printed. Carried. SLIP LINING AND MANHOLE SEWER UPGRADE: Skog reported that this will be pushed to next month as the report is still in the process of being completed. Skog is working on an estimate for a different type of screen system for the waste plant and more information will come at a later date. CLEANING AND INSPECTION OF WATER TOWER AND STANDPIPE: Gill stated that the DNR requires cleaning and inspection of water tower and standpipe every five years and this would need to be completed in 2024. Motion by Blumer, seconded by Mauerman, to have Gill start the bids within the next month for the inspections of the water tower and standpipe. Carried. WELLS 1 & 2 INSPECTION: Gill also reports that the DNR also requires our wells to be inspected and tested every 15 years. He presented the requirements and notes that this work will need to be done in 2025. 2024 EQUIPMENT RATES: Motion by Blumer, seconded by Mauerman, to accept the 2024 equipment rates as printed. Carried. 2023 TREE CITY USA: Motion by Nipple, seconded by Blumer, to approve the Tree City Arbor Day Observation application; the Village will receive $2000 from Tree City USA. Carried. TRAINING: Motion by Mauerman, seconded by Blumer to allow Dan Blumer to attend the Government Affairs seminar in Fon Du Lac, WI on February 15th, 2024 for the cost of $80.00.
