STREET AND UTILITY COMMITTEE March 4th, 2024 The regular meeting of the Street and Utility Committee was called to order at 6:30 p.m. in the Albany Village Hall by Chairperson Larry Nipple. Members present were: Nipple, Kim Blumer, Roald Henderson and Jim Mauerman. Also present: Michelle Brewer, Lonnie Gill, Ex-Officio, and Andrew Skog of Mead & Hunt. Absent: Eileen Althaus Proof of posting was verified. MINUTES: Motion by Mauerman, seconded by Blumer, to approve the previous minutes as printed. Carried. HEY GOV – UTILITY PORTAL: Brewer presented a new municipal utility portal for village residents. This option will allow residents to use an internet equipped device to access monthly utility bills with options to pay online and also has forms linked to fill out, such as new water/sewer service, move out forms and ACH. This utility portal will include credit card payment options for a small fee and will import directly into our Workhorse utility billing program. This will allow payments to come sooner without 7-14 day window, which currently happens with some of the payments. Motion by Blumer, seconded by Nipple, to take this portal to the village board for approval. Carried. MANHOLE AND SEWER LINE UPDATE / COLLECTION SYSTEM FACILITIES PLAN: Skog discussed the waste water system facilities update and how the manhole and sewer lines will be updated. He also gave his projections on the village growth and impact on the treatment plan. Skog will have more information on this for the street meetin in April. TRAINING: None at this time ANNOUNCEMENTS AND FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS: Gill will have an update on village streets next month; and Henderson will have more information on solar energy for village buildings.
