12.5.17_CC Minutes 1
Michelle Nolan asked for clarification on the nominating process and criteria
necessary to win the citizen of the year award. Recognized Super Ewan for this great
work.
Cathy Jones asked if leaf pickup can be scheduled on a day not already scheduled
with garbage pickup. Also thought the light pole Christmas decorations were
underwhelming.
Bill Gratopp wishes everyone a Merry Christmas as he will most likely be unable to
attend our next meeting. He commented on the progress the city has made this year
and sees very good changes and positive energy in the next year. He reminded
everyone the Lions’ annual senior dinner is Saturday, December 9th from noon to two
p.m. Any senior can attend.
City Manager’s Report
Denice Gerstenberg reminded everyone of the Santa Parade and antique tractor rides
December 6th. She opened the nomination period for Citizen of the Year. For all
interested parties, the deadline is January 3, 2018. Forms will be published in the

Council Comment
Bembas
Thanks for coming. The parade is tomorrow. Come on out even if you don’t have
kids. We’ve got some different things this year; the pizza vendor, Snickers and Oreo,
Denice’s goats will be there, a face painter, some crafts for kids. I’m looking forward
to seeing everyone away from business just having a good time.
Osieczonek
12.5.17_CC Minutes 3
I have two things to comment on. Thank you to all the workers who work for the
city. First the leaf pick up and I planned to say this before the comment. It’s a tough
job and I’m really impressed with what they do after I had a chance to watch the
process. Second, I will probably not be here for the parade. I’ve got a commitment
with my wife in Lansing…unless its bad weather then I will because we’re not
driving in it.
Blair
Thank you. Hope to see you all the parade.
Thompson
Thank you. See you tomorrow
Martin
I’m proud to be a member of a community that has members like Super Ewan.
Thanks to Ewan Drum and I hope others will follow his example.
Stoneburner
Thanks to the Goodfellows who had successful candy sales. They do a lot of good in
this community and I’m proud to be a part of that. They make sure no child goes
without a Christmas.
Tesch
Thank you to Deputies Spencer and Newisky for their time in court. They went
above and beyond the call of duty and the residents are grateful. Thank you to the
citizens who took initiative and helped Mr. Leggieri fix his drain. Thank you all for
coming.
Adjournment
CO#12-08-17 Adjournment
Motion by Thompson, supported by Blair to adjourn the meeting at 7:32 p.m. Motion
Carried.
