Approve Agenda Motion by Skarbek; supported by Martin to approve agenda as presented. Motion carried. Presentations Fire Chief Joe Doan presented a program on Fire Prevention Awareness Month. Public Comment Cathy Harris, candidate for council, asked for people to vote for her on Election Day. 10.20.2020 CC Minutes 1  Gale Anthony, 1110 Summer Street, invited everyone to the free community dinner Oct. 21st and announced their annual Thanksgiving dinner will be carry out only this year. Ed Weichsler, 3123 Forest St. Port Huron, a representative from the Blue Water Fallen Heroes project is looking for pictures of war dead from the Algonac area from WWI to the present in order to make banner that will hang in our community over Memorial Day. Motion carried. To approve Townsend flood study: $ 1,975.27 Motion by Skarbek; supported by Bembas approve payment for the Townsend flood study to HRC, whose address is P.O. Box 824, Bloomfield Hills, MI 48303, in the amount of $1,975.27. Motion carried. It was a great event. I was disappointed the pallet maze was damaged. It’s one to two kids who did something stupid – that’s a very minute fraction of our community. They are just waiting now to be burned at the bonfire on Halloween. Blair Thanks for coming. Thanks to Ed for the presentation. Come to the community dinner tomorrow. Halloween in the Nac was a great event. It was good to see people and the kids, cut loose a little bit and just be themselves and have fun. The small problems do not reflect the whole city. I love what we’re doing here and I’m glad to be a part of it. Bembas Thanks to everyone who came out to Halloween in the Nac. Thanks to Gale Anthony for 11 months of selling duck tickets. She sold them out! All 500. There is a long list of people to thank for their help with the event; including everyone at Algonac Alive. It was a great effort and we’re working on making next year even bigger. Be sure to Vote. Meldrum It’s been an honor and privilege to serve the people of Algonac for the last 16 years. I’d like to serve more so please write my name in on the ballot and fill in the oval. I don’t want this to be my last meeting. Skarbek The Lions Club is having a trunk or treat this weekend. Be sure to get out and vote. Stoneburner The bonfire and trunk or treat in the city is on October 31st. Women’s Life is having a Traverse City Dinner fundraiser on Oct 21st. There is a pop-up pantry at Dock 421 on Saturday Oct 24th. Check your smoke and Carbon Monoxide detectors when we change the time back. Regarding the vandalism, we have very little problems with that here and it’s the work of one or two kids. We have great kids in our town. And there is no room for vandalism here. Halloween in the Nac was a great event. I got to enjoy as a resident and grandmother. It was great to see all the smiles on the kids’ faces. Thanks to all the sponsors and all the volunteers.
