Item Title: To approve new power panel at Smith Recreation Park: $12,791.
Submitted by: Joe Vernier, DPW Foreman
Summary
Many years ago, the Algonac Lions Club installed electrical power on a power pole in the
public parking lot behind the Dairy Queen for the Pickerel Tournament. DTE no longer
permits services located in parking lots, the old service was no longer working properly,
and community events in the city need more power.
In November 2023 City Council approved DTE to remove the power from the existing pole
and install a new transformer by the Skate Park.
Sideline Electric followed by installing a 200-amp panel, 400-amp panel, 50-amp plugs
and 110-amp plugs.
The power is now owned by the city of Algonac and will be available to all community
groups, and there will be enough power so that food trucks will not always have to run off
generators.
The total cost of these improvements is $9,208.60 DTE+ $12,791 Sideline= $22,000.
$20,000 was budgeted for 2023/2024.
