The meeting started a 6:30 pm on May 27, 2015, with introductions.
Dale Gunther nominated Brian Thompson for Chair, Joe Heaps seconded. The nomination
passed unanimously.
Laurel Shelley nominated Nan Kuhn for Secretary, Staci Carroll seconded. The nomination
passed unanimously.
Committee assignments:
Recreation - Joe Heaps
Arts - Dale Gunther
Parks - Staci Carroll
At-Large - Brian Thompson, Laurel Shelley, Nan Kuhn, and James Hansen
Committee decided Wednesday, at 6:30 pm would be a good day and time to meet and will
meet quarterly or sooner if needed.

Questions for the City
1. How to advertise the application process?
2. Who will pay for the advertising
3. Who will prepare the application?
4. What information is needed from the applicant?

5. What is the preferred method to receive applications paper vs. electronic or both?
6. What is the city’s IT capacity to receive applications electronically?
7. Has the frequency of funds distribution been determined, i.e., quarterly, annually, etc?
8. When are the funds available for distribution?
9. Will there be a city staffer or liaison assigned to the PARC committee?
10. Are you looking for us to define the application consideration process, then make
recommendations to the administration?
11. Can a portion go toward mini grants and can we have mini grants?
Staci volunteer to contract the Orem’s CARE program and request a representative meet with
us to tell us about their program, how to get started, application process, etc. Suggested dates
June 10, 17, 24.
The meeting adjourned at 7:30 pm.
