PARC (Parks, Arts, Recreation, Culture) Committee

PARC Tax Advisory Board November 4, 2015 City Office Conference Room Attendees Brian Thompson Laurel Shelley Staci Carroll Dale Gunther Nan Kuhn Joe Heaps Audra Sorensen Nate Mecham John Pew The meeting started a 5:30 pm. Laurel Shelley moved to approve the October 7, 2015 meeting minutes. Joe Heaps seconded the motion and the committee voted unanimously in the affirmative. Nate Mecham was introduced as the new appointed committee member replacing James Hansen. Brian updated the city council on the process of the committee. The council felt we were moving in the right direction and were happy with the progress the committee had made so far. Brian and Nan attended a grant workshop that MAG does for its grant applicants. Nate volunteered to help Laurel and Nan with the workshop. The application process should to be explained in the workshop.  How and what information is needed on the application  An official representative needs to attend  Explain how the grant will be used  Additional or other funds that can be used Nate Mecham was assigned to oversee the PARC workshop(s) The committee reviewed the website and made some suggestions:  Date of workshop  Policy and Process  No committee member personal information Audra asked everyone to send her suggestions on how to improve the website and application. Brian volunteered to write-up a short explanation, for the website, on the policy and process on applying for a PARC Grant. Our monthly meeting will start being held on the first Wednesday of each month, starting at 5:30 pm and held in city administration building conference room Our next meeting is scheduled for December 2nd at 5:30 pm, American Fork City Administration Building Conference Room. The meeting adjourned at 6:30 pm.
