PARC (Parks, Arts, Recreation, Culture) Committee

PARC Tax Advisory Board 1 November 2017 City Administration Building Conference Room. Attendees Brian Thompson Dale Gunther Camden Bird Cherylyn Egner Staci Carroll Nan Kuhn Nate Mecham Rob Shelton Laurel Shelley and Clark Taylor were excused The meeting started at 5:30 pm. Approve the July 5, 2017 minutes Dale moved to approve the July 5, 2017, meeting minutes. Staci seconded the motion and the motion passed unanimously. Review PARC Projects Status and Discussion ACT - Beauty & the Beast: Shows were July 21st and July 31st, and were sold out for the last two shows. Fox Hollow - Range Servant: Machine arrived in October and they are now putting the PARC logo on the balls. Lehi City finished paving the area where the cart and range ball machine will be located. Pictures will be provided once everything is in place. Friends of the Library - Book Fairy: 5,000 books had stickers put on them, organized, put in bags or boxes by BioLife and Costco employees. Friends of the Library and Rotary Club – Dictionaries: Dictionaries have been delivered to all 3rd Grade classes and the 1st Grade classes have received all their books for this school year. At the end of the school year we will have teachers and student evaluate the program. Park & Rec - Quail Hollow Parking: City staff is working on design and plan construction in the Spring. Park & Rec - Quail Hollow Pavilion: Footing and concrete pad has been poured, pavilion will be installed over the next 3 weeks and picnic tables should arrive in about 3 weeks. Park & Rec - Art Dye: Phase 1 Design complete (scoring tower and concession with restroom), build Pickleball Courts, demo existing restrooms, move fill dirt from ball fields to soccer fields, and May-Oct 2018 start construction for new fields and scoring tower. Park & Rec – DUP: Curbing installed, trash can delivered and installed, and will replace wood chips in the Spring. Park & Rec – Sculpture: Sculpture should be completed in November and installed. Park & Rec - North-South Park: New name Meadow View Park, working on design and irrigation system and sod in Spring, and will apply for future funding for more improvements. Park & Rec - Miller Park: Parking lot has be staked and prepared for curb, gutter and sidewalk, paving in the Spring. Park & Rec - Benches & Trees: Benches to be installed by staff this week. TAF - Stage Band: Will email update TAF – Instruments: Will email update TAF – Programming: Will email update Invite Derric to the next meeting to discuss Art Dye Park build-out plans and potential for value engineering. Brian will prepare a memo from the PARC board to the City Council regarding our concerns:  No construction signs, should city staff follow through  Summary report on Project before granting additional grant funds  Quarterly reports on projects Workshop Emphasize on the invitation that failure to attend the PARC Applicant Workshop could result in an unfavorable recommendation from the Board.
