PARC Tax Advisory Board Minutes from August 4, 2021 Attendees Brian Thompson Laurel Shelley Karen Schaack Brandon Smith Camden Bird Scott Okelberry Nate Mecham Clark Taylor The meeting started at 5:30 pm. Friends of PARC Committee: Brian related how the formation of Friends of PARC came to be. The Mayor asked John Miller to lead/form this group, drawing from various individuals within the community. The focus of this group is to generate community support for the renewal of the PARC tax. Laurel Shelley and Brian Thompson serve on this committee to ensure that PARC interests are appropriately conveyed. We may be asked to assist with sign placement, promotion, etc. Informational Material from the City: Currently, the City is producing an informational video about the various projects funded over the past six years. Camden Bird showed a preview of this video, with Camden responsible for writing the script and Clark Taylor featured as the leading actor. The intended distribution of this video is to be through social media, the City’s website, etc. All Board members are encouraged to distribute this video. Also, there is an informational brochure, produced by the City that will be mailed to every American Fork resident. The Board reviewed the brochure draft and suggested several format changes/edits.
