ARTS, PARKS, & RECREATION COMMITTEE PROCEEDINGS May 22nd, 2023 The Amery Arts, Parks, and Rec. Committee met on May 22nd, 2023, in North Park. The meeting was called to order at 4:00 p.m. Present: Members Colleen Adams, Tommy Dusek, Joyce Schaefer, and Denise Johnson. Absent: Catherine Olsen. Others Present: Clerk-Treasurer, Ben Jansen; Deputy Clerk-Treasurer, Taylor Larson, and Public Works Director, Jeff Mahoney. 1. North Park Needs Assessment – The committee walked around North Park to determine the biggest needs within that park. The main items discussed were the condition of the playground, the condition of the smaller shelter on the east side, the white posts along the road, and the need to repair the basketball court. It was noted that there is potential for the Women’s Club to repaint the white posts if they cannot be replaced this year. The general condition of the park was also discussed and the need for additional security The next meeting was scheduled for May 31st at 4:00 P.M. at Bobber Park. Motion by Adams; seconded by Johnson; to adjourn at 5:01 p.m. Ayes – 3 Nays – 0 Motion carried. Respectfully submitted, Ben Jansen Clerk-Treasurer May 24th, 2023. 1
