ARTS, PARKS, & RECREATION COMMITTEE PROCEEDINGS May 31st, 2023 The Amery Arts, Parks, and Rec. Committee met on May 31st, 2023, in Bobber/Michael Park. The meeting was called to order at 4:00 p.m. Present: Members Colleen Adams, Tommy Dusek, Joyce Schaefer, and Denise Johnson. Absent: Catherine Olsen. Others Present: Deputy Clerk-Treasurer, Taylor Larson, and Public Works Director, Jeff Mahoney. 1. Bobber/Michael Park Needs Assessment – The committee walked around Bobber/Michael Park to determine the biggest needs within the park. The main items discussed were the condition of the fishing piers, the landscaping around the bobber, the condition of the paved path, the painting of the picnic tables, and if a fence could be installed on the concrete portion of each side of the dam. The general condition of the park was also discussed and the new projects which will be happening in the park such as the new bathrooms. The next meeting was scheduled for June 14th at 4:00 P.M. at Soo Line Park followed by North Twin Beach and South Twin Beach.
