FINANCE COMMITTEE PROCEEDINGS
August 2, 2019
The Finance Committee of the City of Amery met on August 2, 2019 at City Hall in the Committee Meeting Room.
Chairperson, Tim Strohbusch called the meeting to order at 5:20 p.m.
City Clerk, Patty Bjorklund conducted Roll Call.
Present: Chairperson, Tim Strohbusch and Member, Sara Flanum.
Absent: Vice-Chairperson, Rick Van Blaricom.
Staff Present: City Administrator, Kim Moore; and City Clerk-Treasurer, Patty Bjorklund.
Staff Absent: None.
Others Present: Mayor, Paul Isakson and Benjamin Jansen.
Possible Closed Session – Wis. Stat. 19.85 (c):
Considering employment, promotion, compensation or performance evaluation data of any public employee over
which the governmental body has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility.
Roll Call Vote: Ayes – Chairman, Strohbusch and Member, Flanum
Nays – 0
Motion carried.
Motion by Member, Flanum to go into closed session at 5:21 p.m. to discuss possible hire of Benjamin Jansen
for the position of Management Analyst and Deputy Clerk. Motion seconded by Chairperson, Strohbusch.
Ayes – 2 Nays – 0 Motion Carried
Reconvene into Open Session:
Roll Call Vote: Ayes – Chairman, Strohbusch and Member, Flanum
Nays – 0
Motion carried.
Motion by Member, Flanum to go into open session at 5:50 p.m.; seconded by Chairperson, Strohbusch.
Approval of hiring for Management Analyst and Deputy Clerk Position:
Motion by Member, Flanum to recommend to the City Council to approve hiring of Benjamin Jansen as
Management Analyst and Deputy Clerk pending a background check.
Ayes – 2 Nays – 0 Motion Carried
Motion by Chairman, Strohbusch; seconded by Member, Flanum to adjourn at 5:51 p.m.
Ayes – 3 Nays – 0 Motion Carried
