CITY OF AMERY FINANCE & PERSONNEL COMMITTEE PROCEEDINGS August 27, 2019 The Finance Committee of the City of Amery met on August 27, 2019 at City Hall in the Committee Meeting Room. Chairperson, Tim Strohbusch called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. City Clerk, Patty Bjorklund conducted Roll Call. Present: Chairperson, Tim Strohbusch and Member, Sara Flanum. Absent: Vice-Chairperson, Rick Van Blaricom. Staff Present: City Administrator, Kim Moore, City Clerk-Treasurer, Patty Bjorklund, and Management Analyst/Deputy City Clerk, Benjamin Jansen Staff Absent: None. Others Present: Mayor, Paul Isakson, Council Member Julie Riemenschnieder, Council Member Chad Leonard, Jeff Mahoney, Dan Young, and Brock Geyen (phone). Discussion of moving City digital storage from Dropbox to Microsoft OneDrive. Dan Young of Connecting Point recommended change from Dropbox to Microsoft OneDrive due to licensing concerns with Dropbox and the inability to license new members. Motion by Member, Flanum to bring recommendation to convert to OneDrive to council, seconded by Strohbusch. Ayes: 2 Nays: 0 Motion Carried Discussion of bringing in CliftonLarsenAllen to help with FY2020 Budget Process Brock Geyen of CliftonLarsenAllen spoke over the phone regarding what assistance his agency can provide during the city’s budgeting process. Requested that each department head prepares their anticipated budget needs during September for a workshop to be held in October. Public hearing to be held in November. Quote was given as between $2,000 and $4,000 to bring in CliftonLarsenAllen. Motion by Member, Flanum to bring recommendation to hire CliftonLarsenAllen to council, seconded by Strohbusch. Ayes: 2 Nays: 0 Motion Carried Discussion of PTO Policy in regards to Public Works Discussion tabled for further discussion at later date. 1 Discussion of Amery Advertisement in Polk County Visitor’s Guide City received quote stating that the city would be charged $1,990 for full two page ad within the magazine in what is considered the best portion. Motion by Member, Flanum to bring recommendation to council to proceed with advertisement with understanding that the Marketing Committee will make changes to the ad by October 15 th. Seconded by Strohbusch. Ayes: 2 Nays: 0 Motion Carried Motion by Chairman, Strohbusch to adjourn, seconded by Flanum, meeting adjourned at 5:55pm.
