Board of Assessors

By City Clerk at 11:53 am, Nov 09, 2023 Board of Assessors Meeting Minutes September 20, 2023 am Amesbury City Hall Call to Order: The scheduled meeting of the Board of Assessors was held on September 20, 2023, at 9:00am in the city hall auditorium. Those in attendance were Board member Emily Behn and Board member Diana Caswell. Mrs. Behn offered to open the meeting at 9:04am, Mrs. Caswell seconded the motion, the motion passed unanimously. Motor Vehicle Abatement Reports for August 8-15, 2023, August 16-31, 2023, September 1-6, 2023, September 7-19, 2023 were presented to the Board. After review, motion by Mrs. Behn to accept Motor Vehicle Abatement Reports as presented, Mrs. Caswell seconded the motion, the motion passed unanimously. Boat Abatement Reports for August 29,2023 were presented to the Board. After review a motion by Mrs. Behn to accept the abatement was made and seconded by Mrs. Caswell. The motion passed unanimously. Motor Vehicle and Personal property corrections reviewed by the Board and Mrs. Behn motioned to approve the correction. Mrs. Caswell seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. Chapter Land Roll Back Tax Release was presented to the Board and was reviewed. Mrs. Behn motioned to accept the release and Mrs. Caswell seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. Public Comment No members of the public were in attendance. Executive Session to discuss non-public records Motion was made by Mrs. Behn to enter Executive Session under Massachusetts general Law Chapter 30A, Section 2(f) to review Executive Minutes and under Massachusetts General Law Chapter 30a, Section 21(a), Purpose 7 to discuss non-public records. The board will adjourn from Executive Session and reconvene into Open Session. The motion was seconded by Mrs. Caswell and passed unanimously. Mrs. Caswell announced that the Board was in Executive Session at 9:17am. Mrs. Behn offered to open the meeting at 9:18am, Mrs. Caswell seconded the motion, the motion passed unanimously. Adjourn: Having no other business to come before the Board, motion by Mrs. Behn, Mrs. Caswell seconded the motion, the motion passed unanimously, adjourn executive session at 10:19am.
