Board of Trustees Meeting Minutes April 10, 2023 Meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. MEMBERS PRESENT: Mayor Dennis Siry, Deputy Mayor Smith, Trustee Michael O’Neill, Trustee Owen E. Brooks, Jr., Trustee Roger Smith MEMBERS ABSENT: ALSO PRESENT: Village Attorney, Bruce Kennedy APD Chief Bryan Burton Building Inspector Michael Breitweg Bruce Hopper, Superintendent DPW Mayor Siry welcomed everyone and invited Chief Burton to lead the Pledge of Allegiance. He then called for Committee Reports from the Trustees – see reports attached for reports on Justice Court (Trustee Roger Smith); DPW (Trustee Michael O’Neill); APD and Beach (Trustee Owen Brooks); Building Dept. (Deputy Mayor Kevin Smith). No report was available for AFD. Deputy Mayor Smith announced that the Bay Village Civic Association Shredder Event is on Saturday, April 15th, 10 a.m. to noon in 9/11 Park lot; Blood Drive at the fire house on April 17th; Town of Babylon 150th anniversary parade on Sunday, April 30th; and AFD vs. APD charity softball game at the beach on May 13th. Village Attorney Bruce Kennedy suggested that the Quality of Life staff should go around the Village and get an idea of how many noncompliant generators/HVAC equipment are currently in existence. Residents may appeal to the Zoning Board of Appeals for an exemption, but must provide sound proofing and visual protection. No public commentary was received. Village Justice $ 6,375.00 – Parking Violations Penal/Criminal, Vehicle & Traffic, and Village Ordinances 157 charges were processed by the office, 195 charges were closed; and, $ 14,580.00 was collected in fines and surcharges. PARKING: 136 tickets were processed by the office, 63 tickets were collected on; and, $ 6,375.00 was collected in fines & penalties collectively. Letters of employment went out to summer employees. Department of Public Works March 2023 Report >Hauled and disposed of 22.63 tons C&D 8.70 tons municipal waste. >Working on rebuilding the storm drain Union Ave. by the Delano Preserve, removed and cleared four (4) storm drains at the intersection of Central and Morris St. six (6) cubic yards removed from the S/D the drains contained water gas meter/shut off caps and asphalt a result of the repaving project. >Installed a streetlight on Louden Ave. east side of the Newpoint Estates that was removed by someone unknown. >Continuing to remove the holiday lighting. >Tree trimming and tree removals, hangers on going throughout the village at various locations. Trimmed the lower branches, pedestrian hazard east side of Rt.110 from #67 north. >Assisted the Chief of police for the pole camera locations pole locations (GPS) coordinates and ownership. >Excavated sink hole west side parking lot of the municipal building apparently it was a cesspool that was improperly back filled, removed the bricks and block we then backfilled with the proper material will let it settle and then cut and asphalt.
