Board of Trustees Meeting Minutes August 12, 2024 The Board of Trustees Meeting was called to order at 7:03 p.m. MEMBERS PRESENT: Mayor Dennis Siry, Deputy Mayor Kevin Smith; Trustee Owen Brooks, Jr.; Trustee Roger Smith MEMBERS ABSENT: Trustee Michael O’Neill, Clerk/Treasurer Catherine Murdock, Mayor’s Assistant Wendy O’Neill ALSO PRESENT: Village Attorney Bruce Kennedy APD Chief Bryan Burton DPW Superintendent Bruce Hopper Building Inspector Michael Breitweg 3rd Assistant Chief AFD Thomas Langford Deputy Clerk Melanie Macomber Zoning Board Secretary Kerri Geiger Mayor Siry asked Chief Burton to lead everyone in the Pledge of Allegiance. Mayor Siry welcomed all in attendance and asked Deputy Mayor Kevin Smith to share upcoming events. He reported that: The rained out Radio Flashback concert is rescheduled for September 13th. It will be a fundraiser for AFD Cares with a raffle of a guitar that was designed by Steve Pisani, lead guitarist of the band. The concert begins at 8 p.m. at the Amityville Beach. On August 19th, the PBA will hold a school supply drive at Village Hall from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. The Beach Blast is on Sat., August 24th at the Amityville Beach; 2024 Women’s Sunfish Sailing Championship is on Sept 6 – 8th at the Dinghy Shop; Sept. 23rd Kiwanis Golf Outing is looking for golfers and sponsors; Fire Dept. The Board voted to grant a 3-month permit extension based on a reported hardship due to Covid, funds and Town permit issues. Mayor Siry advised that the Board is not in favor of storage containers on properties.
