Resolution 25-01-27-03
RESOLVED, that the Village Clerk/Treasurer be and is hereby directed to hold a TAX SALE on March

Mayor Siry then invited public comments.
Joan and Harry Kaplan, 112 Bryan Ave., asked for removal of a Village tree outside their home. The roots are
reportedly damaging their sewer line, incurring costs of $3,700.00 over the past 1 ½ years. They showed photos of
a tripping hazard and stated that their insurance cancelled their policy due to the tree issue. They said they believe
the tree is at risk of falling and it is affecting their quality of life. According to an arborist at Olsen’s, the tree roots
will die if the tree is taken down. They pointed out that a Village tree across the street had been removed.
Katrina Conway, 92 Maple Dr., reported that problems exist due to trucks delivering to Broadway Beverage
Beer distributor at 560 Broadway. She anticipates that conditions will get worse once the 550 Broadway property
is developed. She would like “no parking from here to the corner” signs in on Maple Dr. and have 550 Broadway
use an entrance on Rte. 110 rather than Maple Drive. Speeding on Maple Drive is also a concern.
Mayor Siry deferred her inquiry to Chief Burton to review the situation and make recommendations.
Rudy Conway, also of 92 Maple Drive, said he has seen a 40-foot delivery truck delivering to the beer distributor
back up traffic on Rte. 110.
Ali Bajwa, 64 Union Ave., of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community - Bait ul Huda, Long Island, introduced the new
Iman Nazir Ahmad and shared news of their 20-year anniversary.
Kurk Pusey, 80 Merrick Rd., who owns Nyam Sum restaurant adjacent to Crunch gym, appealed for help with a
parking shortage. He asked to have two 15-minute parking signs installed on Park Ave. at his pick-up window to
avoid customers getting ticketed. While they were sympathetic, the Board responded that Mr. Pusey should
exhaust all possible avenues with the landlord (to have spots in the lot reserved for the restaurant) before a
decision could be made.
