Board of Trustees Meeting Minutes June 9, 2025 The Board of Trustees Meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. MEMBERS PRESENT: Mayor Michael O’Neill, Deputy Mayor Owen E. Brooks, Jr.; Trustee Roger Smith, Trustee Robert Russo, Trustee Adam Ansanelli MEMBERS ABSENT: ALSO PRESENT: Village Attorney Bruce Kennedy APD Lt. Frank Caramanica AFD Chief Stephen Juliano DPW Superintendent Bruce Hopper Building Inspector Michael Breitweg Clerk/Treasurer Catherine Murdock Clerk/Treasurer Administrator Assistant Wendy O’Neill Mayor Michael O’Neill welcomed everyone to the Board of Trustees Special Meeting and asked Lt. Frank Caramanica to lead the Pledge of Allegiance. The Mayor asked Deputy Mayor Owen Brooks to share upcoming events: BVCA Farmers Market at the 1st United Methodist Church lawn, June 14 to October 25th; Fridays on the Greene starts on June 27th; St. Martin of Tours Carnival June 27th through June 29th; Village’s July 3rd celebration on Broadway 5 – 10 p.m.; July 4th parade – 10 a.m. (line up at Ocean and Bayside Ave., 9 a.m.). The theme is the 250th Anniversary of the beginning of the American Revolution. Also noted, Supper by the Bay starts July 9th and runs on Wednesday evenings through August 20th. On Friday, July 18th the Town of Babylon Soldier Ride comes down Oak St. to Broadway at approx. 9:30 a.m. Shakespeare in the Park will return to James Caples Park with performances on Sundays at 5 p.m on July 20th – Jane Austin’s Emma and King Lear on July 27th. Mayor O’Neill stated that this year due to construction on Merrick Road on the Soldier Ride will go down Avon to Bayview to Merrick Road. He also thanked AFD Chief Juliano for hosting a nice send off yesterday (June 8th) for the late Ray Fleming, who was a lifelong Amityvillian who will be missed.
