City of Anderson Minutes of the Regular Meeting: May 16, 2017 Board of Public Works PRESENT: David Eicks Sammy Pancol Neal McKee Dick Symmes Mike Spyers Kim Townsend April Phillips Ken de la Bastide Nara Manor Jack Keesling Paul Podlejski Tim Stires CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 1:30 p.m. by Chairman Eicks. APPROVAL OF MINUTES The minutes of the May 9, 2017, meeting were presented. Member Keesling made a motion to accept the minutes as presented. Member Symmes seconded. Motion passed unanimously. NEW BUSINESS: Community Development Paul Podlejski opened bids from Waterworks. Waterworks was the only bidder. The Bids for plumbing rehabilitation for homeowners were $2,052 for 706 West 4th Street, $2,805 for 1111 East 28th Street, and $6,355 for 2924 Walton Street. Kim Townsend asked the Board to take the bids under advisement. Member Keesling made a motion to take the bids under advisement. Member Symmes seconded. Motion passed unanimously. Kim Townsend requested the Board award a contract to Double Eagle Turf Management for $17,220. The Community Development Department will be paying $15,000. The Park Department will be paying the remaining $2,220. Chairman Eicks spoke with both departments and this is within their budgets. Member Keesling made a motion to award the contract to Double Eagle Turf Management. Member Symmes seconded. Motion passed unanimously. Legal Department Paul Podlejski presented a list of items to be declared surplus. These items are slated for the City Auction to be held summer 2017. Member Keesling made a motion to declare the property as surplus. Member Symmes seconded. Motion passed unanimously. MISCELLANEOUS: NONE OLD BUSINESS: NONE APPROVAL OF CLAIMS With no further business coming before the Board, claims were presented in the amount of $3,156,473.31. Member Keesling made a motion to approve the published Claims. Member Symmes seconded. Motion passed unanimously.
