MINUTES ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION May 14, 2020 PUBLIC HEARING ABATEMENT FOR MARIANN AND PAUL 4:30pm STROZIER – 6418 BLUEGRASS DRIVE Via Zoom Conferencing Mr. Winkler briefed members on Resolution EDC09- 20 a residential tax abatement for MariAnn and Paul MEMBERS PRESENT Strozier. Mr. Winkler stated the address is 6418 Lance Stephenson, President Bluegrass Drive, Lot 43 in Apple Downs Addition. Mary Jamerson, Sec/Treas The request is for a three-year tax abatement, as it is Roger Reed not considered in-fill housing. Construction will commence before December 31, 2020, for a single- STAFF PRESENT family dwelling intended for human habitation. Greg Winkler, ED Director Improvements to the property will be at an estimated Karen Soetenga, ED Staff cost of $258,000.00. Mr. and Mrs. Strozier briefed Paul Podlejski, City Attorney members on the new construction. Brief discussion followed. OTHERS PRESENT Deloris Cavanaugh, Tax Abatement Applicant Ms. Jamerson moved to approve Resolution EDC09- MariAnn and Paul Strozier, Tax Abatement Applicant 20 for MariAnn and Paul Strozier and. Mr. Reed David Eicks, BOW Chairman seconded. Motion passed unanimously; 3 yes, 0 no. ROLL CALL AND DECLARATION OF QUORUM ADJOURNMENT Mr. Stephenson called the public hearing to order at Mr. Reed moved to adjourn the meeting and Ms. 4:30 p.m. and declared a quorum with three (3) Jamerson seconded. NEW BUSINESS EDC08-20 - RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING RESIDENTIAL TAX ABATEMENT FOR DELORIS CAVANAUGH – 6423 COLT LANE Mr. Winkler briefed members on Resolution EDC08- 20 a residential tax abatement for Deloris Cavanaugh. Mr. Winkler stated the address is 6423 Colt Lane, Lot 38 in Apple Downs Addition. The request is for a three-year tax abatement, as it is not considered in-fill housing. Construction will commence before December 31, 2020, for a single- family dwelling intended for human habitation. Improvements to the property will be at an estimated cost of 220,565.00. Ms. Cavanaugh briefed members on the new construction. Brief discussion followed. Mr. Reed moved to approve Resolution EDC08-20 for Deloris Cavanaugh and. Ms. Jamerson seconded.
