1 City of Anderson Minutes of the Regular Meeting, August 7, 2012 Park Board Members Present • Nancy Anderson • Dick Bevelhimer: Vice President • Carolyn Dunteman • Darin Foltz Attorney: Richard Walker 1:82 Call to Order Mrs. Anderson called the meeting to order at 4:15, and led all in the Pledge of Allegiance. 2:04 Approval of July 17, 2012 minutes were tabled until August 21 meeting due to computer Malfunctions. Mr. Bevelhimer motioned to table the minutes until August 21st meeting Mr. Foltz seconded the motion Motion carried 2:05 Business Administrators Report: Teresa Spencer Mr. Bevelhimer motioned to approve bills totaling $31,016.38 Mr. Foltz seconded the motion. Motion carried. 2:06 Other Business: • Nick Baldwin a Park and Recreation maintenance employee was injured at work, Doug Zook requested that Parks department continue paying him full wages; Darin Foltz motioned to approve continuing wages for an additional 30 days Dick Bevelhimer seconded the motion Motion Carried • Tammy Doty-Davis said that she has completed her Playground Safety Audit, she gave an overview of the results (complete report included in official minutes). Darin Foltz recommended that the Maintenance Superintendent attend trainings on playground equipment safety • For 2012 Mrs. Doty-Davis (Landscape Architect) interns were given an assignment, to re- design the Athletic Park into a multi function year round facility, that best utilize the park. The design included a Greenhouse, Children’s playground, amphitheater, conference hall and much more. Interns presented Parks department with an excellent presentation. • North Anderson Community Center will be closing, the senior euchre club would like to relocate to the Geater Center on Sundays from 3-6 pm.
