1 2 Lodgers Tax Committee Meeting Minutes 3 Tuesday, June 25, 2019 4 5 Call to Order 6 The meeting was called to order by Chairman Gary Davis. 7 8 Pledge of Allegiance 9 The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by the Committee. 10 11 Roll Call 12 Present at the meeting were Chairman Gary Davis, Shauna Cooper, Mindy Stille, Brenda Johnson 13 and Brent Dunn. Also present was Jimmy Linton. 14 15 Approval of Agenda 16 Brent Dunn made a motion to approve the agenda of June 25, 2019. Second to the motion was from 17 Mindy Stille. Motion passed. 18 19 Approval of Minutes 20 Brent Dunn made a motion to approve the minutes of the April 9, 2019 meeting of the Committee. 21 Second to the motion was from Mindy Stille. Motion passed. 22 23 New Business 24 Jimmy Linton gave a report of the Lodgers Tax collections. The collections for April 2019 were up 25 50% over last year (2018). May collections were down, however, there were a number of delinquent 26 collections last May (2018). Each month, the Village is seeing more individual lodgers paying 27 Lodger’s Tax. 28 29 The Committee began discussions for the Special Events Funding requests for 2019 with three 30 proposals presented. The Second Annual Music Festival Eclectica, Wine & Wagyu Weekend and 31 Angel Fire Studio Tour. 32 33 After discussion and scoring of the proposals, with questions to proposal representatives, the 34 Committee voted to approve distribution of funds. Motion was made and seconded to provide 35 $5,000 to each proposal. Shauna Cooper made the motion and Mindy Stille seconded the motion. 36 Motion passed. This recommendation will go to Village Council for final approval.
