Pedestrian Trails Committee Meeting Minutes
Wednesday, August 14th, 2019 at 3:30 pm at the Community Center
I. Call to Order-Brian called the meeting to order 3:35 PM.
II. Pledge of Allegiance
III. Roll Call-Brian Smith, Randy Kaiser, Lonny Natter, Katrina White, Patrick West, Carolyn Smith,
Matt Billingsley. Quorum was established. Shay Tibljas, Village representative. Visitors-Renee
Sussman, Jim McGay
IV. Approval of Agenda-Katrina motioned to approve, Carolyn seconded.
V. Approval of Minutes from the March 27th, 2019 Meeting and May 29th Meeting-Done at last
Meeting.
VI. Old Business
A. Frank Young Trail Extension (Including to the Blinking Light) Update-Shay stated that the
Village was waiting on a letter of approval from the Resort.
B. Progress on Cougar Trail-Patrick stated the guy they hired had a personal issue and had to
leave, so that was training and time wasted. They have a new person who has started, but
has to leave in a month. They are almost ½ way now.
C. Progress on Brochure Boxes-Patrick put new ones at Sage, Deer, Bear. Still need Lake and
Sage. Patrick has ordered 3 more.
D. Cleaning off weeds on Village Trails (Bobcat, Sendero, Solar, and part of Frank Young
Trail)-Shay stated that the Village was trying to get a contract with the Resort for grounds
maintenance for the Village. Shay has employees that have been trying to weed whack and
weed the worst parts of the trails. Brian asked about the solar panels, do they work? Are
they safe?
VII. New Business
A. What is needed to satisfy the Firewise Ordinance for Greenbelt Trails Draft Document-
Brian is finishing up his document. He is ready to get others point of view, then will give to
AFFPO Board.
B. Brochures Needed Next Spring-Would like not to make more copies, would like to try and
start the new ones. Shay stated it depends on the cost. Patrick stated he has someone
inhouse.

B. Frank Young (Existing) Trail
C. Bobcat-Bridges need some work, and the weeds are getting bad.
D. Sage
E. Lady Slipper-Looking better
F. Oesta Vista
G. Parking
H. AAFPO-Money is tight
X. Requests and Responses from the Audience-Patrick asked for volunteers to help clean up spots
on the Cougar trail. Renee Sussman asked about the damage caused by the sleigh rides on Deer
Trail, is there anything that can be done?
XI. Next Meeting Date and Adjournment-Brian motioned to adjourn; Carolyn seconded.
Adjourned at 4:45 PM. Next meeting, Oct., 2nd, 3:30 PM at the Community Center.
