On a voice vote, Councimember Eaton declared the motion carried. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 19-0135 Minutes from November 27th, 2018 Council Policy Agenda Committee meeting A motion was made by Councilmember Griswold, seconded by Councilmember Hayner, that the Minutes be Approved by the Committee. On a voice vote, CM Eaton declared the motion carried. NEW BUSINESS Asst. City Administrator John Fournier discussed Ann Arbor Council Policy Agenda Committee's agenda for FY20 with input from Council, Boards & Commissions and Lansing • No reason absentee balloting • State wide Crosswalk statute. Dark Skies program and crosswalk lighting. • Increased fines for speeding in a school zone City of Ann Arbor Page 1 Council Policy Agenda Committee Meeting Minutes - Draft January 23, 2019 • Headlee Amendment & Proposal A regulations • Fire Protection Grants, & Public Safety Protection Grants • Water reuse & reclamation systems and high performance energy efficiency standards in regards to Uniform Building Code • Advocate for the reintroduction & adoption of HB 5143 & HB 5680 (99th Legislative session) • Taxation of U-M leased properties • Gender neutral bathrooms, along with ADA compliance in new renovations • Advocate for changes in State law to allow municipalities to ban single use plastics/straws • MDOT-Complete streets & vision zero policies • Pursue the optimization of parking assets in the downtown • Oppose preemption for Municipalities to regulate Air BNB usage • Work with County, Destination A2 and Ann Arbor CVB regarding use of hotel taxes • Barrier protection for special events • Wetland Enforcement • Monitor mobility sharing company’s ability to operate while protecting municipality’s use of right of way. HB 6150 Uniform traffic code (Reintroduce?)
