Meeting ID: 932 9966 7177 Larcom City Hall, 301 E Huron St, Basement Conference Room Council Policy Agenda Committee Council Policy Agenda Committee Meeting Minutes - Final November 17, 2022 CALL TO ORDER Chairperson Eyer called the meeting to order at 4:15 p.m. Members in attendance: Chair Eyer, Councilmember Radina, and Councilmember Briggs Member absent: Councilmember Song Guests in attendance: Andrea Cascarilla and Mary Beth McGowan of Dykema Gossett PLLC Staff in attendance: Deputy City Administrator John Fournier, City Attorney Atleen Kaur, and Executive Assistant Kelly Reynolds who recorded these minutes. APPROVAL OF AGENDA Councilmember Briggs moved and Councilmember Radina seconded to approve the agenda as presented. The motion was approved unanimously with a show of hands. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Councilmember Briggs moved and Councilmember Radina seconded to approve the minutes of the October 13, 2022 Council Policy Agenda Committee. 22-1757 October 13, 2022 Draft Council Policy Agenda Meeting Minutes NEW BUSINESS 1 Legislative breakfast Deputy City Administrator Fournier informed the group he is working with Dykema Gossett to organize a breakfast for the newly elected Ann Arbor legislative representatives. Dates in early December are being pursued in the hope of convening the group before the beginning of the next legislative session. In light of election outcomes, Mr. Fournier thinks this group should reevaluate its policy agenda to be more aggressive on the more progressive goals that may be better received with the incoming Democratic majority. City of Ann Arbor Page 1 Council Policy Agenda Committee Meeting Minutes - Final November 17, 2022 UNFINISHED BUSINESS 1 Legislative update and policy priorities Ms. Cascarilla and Ms. McGowan updated the group on bills of interest and gave their best estimates of the future of the lame-duck session. As always, they will provide communication to Deputy City Administrator Fourier when information is available. INFORMATION/UPCOMING BUSINESS 1 Committee meeting calendar Deputy City Administrator Fournier will be revising elements of the Policy Agenda for the review of this group prior to the legislative breakfast. At the next meeting the full committee with newly seated members will approve the 2023 meeting calendar. PUBLIC COMMENT There were no members of the public in attendance either in person or by phone. ADJOURNMENT The meeting was adjourned at 4:40. No vote to adjourn was taken, as there was no longer a quorum of members present. All persons are encouraged to participate in public meetings.
