Huron St. Ann Arbor, MI 48104 http://a2gov.legistar.com/Calendar.aspx Meeting Minutes - Final Tuesday, July 16, 2019 10:00 AM Special Meeting Larcom City Hall, 301 E Huron St, Second floor, City Council workroom Election Commission Election Commission Meeting Minutes - Final July 16, 2019 CALL TO ORDER Jacqueline Beaudry, Chair of the Election Commission, called the July 16, 2019 special meeting of the Election Commission to order at 10:04 A.M. in the 2nd Floor Council Work Room of the Guy C. Larcom Jr. Building, 301 E. Huron St. ROLL CALL Present: 2- Jacqueline Beaudry, and Matt Thomas Absent: 2- Stephen Postema, and Michael Cox Jennifer Alexa, Deputy City Clerk; Steve Gerhart, Deputy City Clerk; and Kelly Beattie, Boards and Commissions Coordinator, were also present. APPROVAL OF AGENDA A motion was made by Thomas, seconded by Chair Beaudry, that the Agenda be approved. On a voice vote, the Chair declared the motion carried. PUBLIC COMMENT Sue Smereck and Geoffrey Smereck, representatives from the League of Women Voters, spoke to the Commission and offered League support for election management initiatives with an emphasis on increasing student voter turnout. ROLL CALL Michael Cox, Chief of Police, and Jason Forsberg, Deputy Chief, arrived at 10:06 A.M. during public comment. Michael Cox designated Jason Forsberg as an alternate member of the Election Commission and stated he would rely on Forsberg to make decisions. Present: 4- Jacqueline Beaudry, Michael Cox, Matt Thomas, and Jason Forsberg Absent: 1- Stephen Postema City of Ann Arbor Page 1 Election Commission Meeting Minutes - Final July 16, 2019 APPROVAL OF MINUTES 19-1334 Election Commission Meeting Minutes from June 5, 2019 A motion was made by Thomas, seconded by Forsberg, that the Minutes of June 5, 2019 be approved by the Commission and forwarded to City Council. On a voice vote, the Chair declared the motion carried. NEW BUSINESS 19-1336 Appointment of Election Inspectors for the August 6, 2019 Election A motion was made by Thomas, seconded by Forsberg, that the appointments be approved. On a voice vote, the Chair declared the motion carried. 19-1337 Public Accuracy Test for the August 6, 2019 Election Deputy City Clerk Jennifer Alexa conducted the public accuracy and logic test of the voting equipment to be used in the August 6, 2019 Election. Results of the test were certified by three members of the election commission: Jacqueline Beaudry, City Clerk; Matt Thomas, Assistant City Attorney; and Jason Forsberg, Deputy Chief of Police. Approved UNFINISHED BUSINESS None. INFORMATION/UPCOMING BUSINESS None.
