3 INTRODUCTIONS
Commissioners and appointed liaisons each stated their names and
educational, professional, or personal interests/experience related to
serving on the Renters Commission.
Staff provided brief overview of their individual roles related to the
Commission.

Chris Frost, City of Ann Arbor Senior Assistant City Attorney, provided an
overview of the Renters Commission Bylaws, the Michigan Open
Meetings act, and Parliamentary Procedure.
4 ELECTION OF CHAIR PRO TEM
The Commission elected Zackariah Farah as Chair Pro Tem and Lucy
Peterson as Vice Chair Pro Tem under item 8-C.
5 APPROVAL OF AGENDA
Unanimously approved as presented.
6 APPROVAL OF MINUTES
None.
7 PUBLIC COMMENT
PUBLIC COMMENT
Zoom attendee with the username Zachary Storey explained discomfort
regarding Commissioner Nelson's appointment on the Renters
Commission. Storey discussed the inspection process for rental housing
in the City of Ann Arbor, explained improvements needed in the
inspection process, and proposed notifying tenants of rental inspection
information.
Zoom attendee with the username Brandon, expressed gratitude to the
Renters Commission.
Seeing no further callers, Kristen Vander Lugt closed Public Comment.

8-A 22-1157 Discuss Live Broadcast of Future Meetings - Request to City Administrator
for CTN Coverage
The Commission discussed requesting support from CTN to

televise/broadcast future regular meetings and directed staff to begin the
approval process.

The Commission discussed individual and group goals, initiatives, and

8-C 22-1158 Next Meeting Preparation
The Commission elected Zackariah Farah as Chair Pro Tem and Lucy
Peterson as Vice Chair Pro Tem. The Commission generally intends to
discuss the following items at their next meeting:
- Approval of regular meeting schedule
- Approval of bylaws
- Scheduling opportunities for public input
- The proposed Right to Renew Ordinance
- Work Plan Items as discussed under item 8-B and submitted to staff

9 COMMUNICATIONS
The Commission allowed Zoom Attendee Nick Roumel to address the
Renters Commission. Roumel expressed appreciation to the
Commission for the opportunity to speak. They expressed that they're
excited to work with the Renters Commission in the future.

Moved by Farah, seconded by Kelly, adjourned unanimously at 7:34
