Chambers Jr., City Council Chambers Economic Matters Committee Economic Matters Committee Standing Committee Meeting December 6, 2023 Minutes - Final Call To Order Alderman Schandelmeier called the Special Meeting to order at 6:31 pm. Roll Call Present: 3- Alderman Gay, Alderman Schandelmeier and Alderman Savidge Approval of Agenda (any changes to the agenda should be made here) Alderman Savidge moved to remove O-29-23 and approve the Special Meeting Minutes as amended. Seconded. CARRIED on voice vote. Business and Miscellaneous Approval of Minutes EMC 10.3.23 Special Meeting Minutes Attachments: EMC 10.3.23 Alderman Savidge moved to approve EMC 10.3.23. Seconded. CARRIED on voice vote. Appointments and Re-appointments AP-38-23 Appointment - Mr. Eric Elston - Heritage Commission Attachments: AP-38-23 Alderman Savidge requested that Ombudsman Raftovich make sure that AP-38-23 is a city resident. Alderman Savidge moved to postpone AP-38-23 until January 17th,2023 Economic Matters Regular Meeting. Seconded. CARRIED on voice vote. AP-39-23 Appointment - Mr. Christopher Sheehan - Alcoholic Beverage Control Board Attachments: AP-39-23 AP-39-23 (2) Appointee Chris Sheehan was present to answer questions from the committee. Alderman Gay moved to recommend AP-39-23 favorably. Seconded. CARRIED on voice vote. City of Annapolis Page 2 Economic Matters Committee Standing Committee Meeting December 6, 2023 Minutes - Final AP-40-23 Appointment - Mr. Ryan Webb - Building Board of Appeals Attachments: AP-40-23 AP-40-23 (2) Appointee Ryan Webb was present to answer questions from the committee. Alderman Savidge moved to recommend AP-40-23 favorably. Seconded. CARRIED on voice vote. AP-41-23 Appointment - Rick Nelson - Maritime Advisory Board Attachments: AP-41-23 Alderman Savidge moved to postpone AP-41-23 until January 17th,2023 Economic Matters Regular Meeting. Seconded. CARRIED on voice vote. AP-42-23 Appointment - Mr. Devin M. Neil - Recreation Advisory Board Attachments: AP-42-23 Alderman Savidge moved to postpone AP-42-23 until January 17th,2023 Economic Matters Regular Meeting. Seconded. CARRIED on voice vote. Legislation O-27-23 City of Annapolis Electrical Code Update - For the purpose of updating the City of Annapolis electrical code to current National Electric Code standards as published by the National Fire Protection Association, 2020 Edition, and the National Electrical Safety Code, 2023 Edition; and generally related to the city's electrical code. Sponsors: Schandelmeier, Tierney and Gay Attachments: O-27-23 First Reader O-27-23 Staff Report O-27-23 Fiscal Impact Note O-27-23 signed (b&w) O-27-23 Signed (color) Electrical Inspector Pratt was present to answer questions from the committee. Alderman Gay requested to be a sponsor to O-27-23. Alderman Gay moved to recommend O-27-23 favorably. Seconded. CARRIED on voice vote. Adjournment Upon motion duly made, seconded and adopted, the Special Meeting was adjourned at 7:30 pm.
