Chairman Pfeiffer called the meeting to order at 5:06 p.m.

3. Legislation before Committee
R-8-17 Filing of Grant Application with the Maryland Transit Administration - For
the purpose of authorizing the filing of an application with the Maryland
Transit Administration of the Maryland Department of Transportation for a
Sections 5303, 5304, 5307, 5309, 5310, 5311, 5316, and/or 5317 grant(s)
under the Federal Transit Act for a total amount of $2,661,028 ($1,870,162
for fixed route transit operations; $247,776 for ADA complementary
paratransit services; $315,000 capital grant for transit vehicle
maintenance; $12,878 capital grant for maintenance equipment, and
$215,212 capital assistance for transit vehicle replacement).

Transportation Director Gordon gave a presentation on the legislation and answered
questions from the committee.
Alderman Arnett moved to recommend favorably. Seconded. CARRIED on voice
vote.

R-10-17 Dedication to Michael “Mike” Francis Miron - For the purpose of dedicating
the Street End Park, 6th Street and Back Creek, Eastport, to the late
Michael “Mike” Francis Miron.

Alderman Arnett moved to recommend favorably pending a Fiscal Impact note
from the Finance Department prior to the City Council meeting scheduled on
March 13, 2017. Seconded. CARRIED on voice vote.

4. General Discussion
ID-67-17 Finance Department Update
Finance Director Miller gave an update on the discussion topic and spoke on the FY18
budget, finalizing the audit, the new contract employee and answered questions from the
committee.
