Call To Order Chairman Pfeiffer called the meeting to order at 2:10 p.m. Roll Call Present: 3- Alderman Pfeiffer, Alderman Arnett and Alderman Paone 2. General Discussion ID-145-17 Public Works- Departmental Review Public Works Director Jarrell, Assistant Director Patrick and Chief of Engineering Brice gave a joint presentation on the discussion topic and spoke on departmental enhancements (none requested), the solid waste fee reduction, trash, recycling, yardwaste, and bulk pick-up fees down to $204 per year, update on the Water and Sewer Rate Study (completion date June 2017), the water treatment plant is on-line (as of April 12, 2017), the public works maintenance facility construction (target start date mid- June 2017), the reconstruction timeline for new Public Works facility (1 year), the City Dock flood mitigation project, the 3 million dollar grant request to Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for flood the mitigation project, the new stormwater permit, the Main Street re-bricking, the Energy Park (will become active this fall), the Cornhill Street sidewalk and curb, This Informational Item was presented Alderman Budge was in attendance and spoke on the flood drain work, the City's swimming pool, and the Honeywell Energy saving performance contract, the total amount of attrition built into the budget and how many full- time equivalent (FTE) does that represent. ID-151-17 Capital Improvement Program Review (CIP) Public Works Director Jarrell gave an overview of the discussion topic and spoke the Capital Improvement Program (CIP) annual projects which include roadways, water & sewer lines, traffic signals replacement (new), facility projects, vehicle replacement, the MS4 storm water quality project, storm drains, the water distribution system, water tanks, sewer rehabilitation, general sidewalks. the Capital Improvement Program (CIP) one-time projects the design and planning of the swimming pool, the Main Street re-bricking, the move from the city's proprietary coordinate system to a more standard system, the Truxton Park tennis courts rehabilitation, recreation management software, trail connections, the Maynard Burgess House, landfill gas mitigation and answered questions from the committee. Chief of Engineering Brice was present and spoke on the timeline of the re-bricking of Main Street, Finance Director Miller spoke on the discussion topic and answered questions from the committee.
