Call To Order Acting Chairman Paone called the meeting to order at 2:00 p.m. Roll Call Present: 2- Alderman Arnett and Alderman Paone Absent: 1- Alderman Pfeiffer 2. General Discussion ID-153-17 Annapolis Fire Department/Office of Emergency Management- Departmental Review Fire Chief Stokes and Deputy Fire Chief Simmons gave a joint presentation on the discussion topic and spoke on the Captain and Battalion Chief's mentoring program, the status of "Paramedic 48" at the Annapolis Neck Station, received the 2016 National Association of Fire Chief's Annual Safety Award, the Insurance Services Office (ISO) rating, the used Boat Flare and Fire Works program, the citywide radio Capital Improvement Program (CIP) project for police and fire, the Fire Sprinkler Program in the Historic District, the National Fire Sprinkler Association, the Anne Arundel Medical Center re-route alerts, the Smoke Detector and Crime Prevention program, Adequate Public Facility as it relates to Emergency Medical Services response times and demand for service re-write, special events billing, the cardiac arrest save rate, the Staffing for Adequate Fire & Emergency Response (SAFER) grant personnel, enhancements for the overtime budget, and answered questions from the committee. Finance Director Miller spoke on the discussion topic and answered questions from the committee. This Informational Item was presented Alderwoman Finlayson was present and spoke on options for the Fire Sprinkler Program in the Historic District, The Insurance Services Office (ISO) rating, the fire department response times, the Citywide 800 MHz Radio program. Alderman Budge was present and spoke on the Fire Sprinkler Program in the Historic District, the statistics on Heroin overdose treatments and the fire department cardiac arrest rate decline. ID-155-17 Annapolis Police Department- Departmental Review Acting Police Chief Baker & Captain Amoia gave a joint presentation on the discussion topic and spoke on the FY2017 departmental overtime budget, the 2017-2019 strategic plan, the body worn camera contract vendor, departmental enhancements: the police overtime budget, funding for a mobile crisis response counselor & coordinator, funding for a new police captain position, the banning policy and answered questions from the committee. Finance Director Miller was available to answer questions from the committee. Alderwoman Finlayson was present and spoke on the fire department enhancements. 3.
