160 Duke Of Gloucester City of Annapolis Street Annapolis, MD 21401 Standing Committee Minutes Housing and Human Welfare / Housing and Community Development Tuesday, November 18, 2014 7:30 PM Mayor John T. Chambers, Jr. City Council Chambers 1. Call To Order Also Present: Theresa Von Adelung Bond - Board Member of Housing and Community Development The Chair called the Meeting to order at 7:46 p.m. Present: 3- Alderman Budge, Alderman Kirby and Alderman Littmann 2. Business before Committee a. Appointments and reappointments to Committees AP-21-14 Appointment of Raegan Parker to the Education Commission Attachments: Appointment Letter and Bio Reagan Parker Ms. Reagan Parker of 902 G Water Street spoke on why she would like to be recommended to serve on the Education Commission as a student representative. Alderman Kirby states he would like to applaud her efforts and her attitude toward serving on the committee. Alderman Budge told the candidate that he is very impressed with her bio, and the initiative she has shown in her school, and wishes her the best. Alderman Littmann had a few questions for the candidate. Alderman Littmann moved to recommend favorably . Seconded. CARRIED on voice vote. Aye: 3- Alderman Budge, Alderman Kirby and Alderman Littmann 3. General Discussion ID-370-14 Briefing by Urban Design Ventures Mr. Jon Haglund of Urban Design Ventures offered a report on the City's needs for the Community Development Block Grant. Mr.Haglund also spoke of a resident survey that is available on the City's web site to garner community feedback on the needs for the city. The Committee asked questions regarding Mr. Haglund's report. Alderman Kirby asked if the meeting this afternoon was well attended. ID-381-14 Public Hearing - CDBG 5- year Consolidated Plan and FY 2016 Action Plan Yevola Peters of 885 Marengo Street, Annapolis Maryland here on behalf of the Newtowne Community Development Corporation spoke on the Community Development Block Grant uses. Anna Ziehl of 931 Spa Road Annapolis, Maryland here on behalf of The Arc of the Central Chesapeake Region talks about the need for Community Development Block Grant funds. Alderman Kirby Closed the Public Hearing. b. Approval of Minutes HHW091614 Approval of minutes for the regular meeting Attachments: September 16,2014 Alderman Littmann moved to approve. Seconded. CARRIED on voice vote. Aye: 3- Alderman Budge, Alderman Kirby and Alderman Littmann ID-370-14 Briefing by Urban Design Ventures Mr. Jon Haglund wanted to give some additional meeting dates to the committee. 4.
