Chambers, Jr. City Council Chambers Housing and Human Welfare Housing and Human Welfare Standing Committee Meeting June 1, 2020 Minutes 1. Call To Order Chairman Gay called the meeting to order at 4:48 p.m. 2. Roll Call Present: 2- Alderwoman Tierney and Chairperson Gay 3. Approval of Agenda (any changes to the agenda should be made here) Alderwoman Tierney moved to adopt the Regular Meeting Agenda. Seconded. A roll call vote was taken. The motion CARRIED by the following vote: Aye: 3- Alderwoman Tierney, Rodriguez and Chairperson Gay 4. Business before Committee a. Approval of Minutes HHW02.18.2 Approval of Minutes for the Regular Meeting 0 Alderwoman Tierney moved to approve. Seconded. A roll call vote was taken. The motion CARRIED by the following vote: Aye: 3- Alderwoman Tierney, Rodriguez and Chairperson Gay ID-151-20 Update: Police Department ID-152-20 Introduction of HACA’s new Public Safety Coordinator Melissa Maddox-Evans, Executive Director Housing Authority of the City of Annapolis, and Carlos Kelly, representing Housing Authority of the City of Annapolis, were present and answered questions from the committee. Alderwoman Finlayson, Alderman Arnett, and Alderwoman Pindell Charles were present and addressed the committee. ID-153-20 Concern, Questions, and Solutions for Improved Communications between HACA and the Annapolis Police Department 5. Legislation before Committee R-30-20 Youth Violence - For the purpose of declaring youth violence a public health epidemic; and supporting the establishment of City-wide trauma-informed education and response methods. Alderman Arnett, Alderwoman Pindell Charles, Deputy Police Chief Herman, and City Attorney Lyles were present and answered questions from the committee.
