Chairwoman Finlayson called the meeting to order at 5:05 p.m.

Present: 3- Alderman Paone, Alderwoman Finlayson and Alderwoman Pindell Charles

O-21-15 Nonstandard Vehicles Definition - For the purpose of amending the
definition of Nonstandard Vehicles to include all such vehicles including
pedicabs and for-hire Segways.

Alderman Paone moved to recommend favorably. Seconded. CARRIED on voice
vote.

ID-249-15 APD- Hiring Efforts & Crime in the City of Annapolis
Police Chief Pristoop gave an update on crime statistics in the City of Annapolis.
Recruitment Officer Parker gave a presentation on the Annapolis Police Department
staffing and hiring efforts.

ID-260-15 Fire Department - Training Exercises in the City of Annapolis
Fire Deputy Chief Remaley gave a brief update on Fire Training Exercises in the City of
Annapolis. Firefighter First Class McGill was present and answered question from the
committee.

ID-248-15 Fire/OEM -Improving Communications with Non- English Speaking
Persons during Medical Emergencies and Emergency Sheltering.
Deputy Fire Chief Simmons gave a presentation on improving communications with non
english speaking persons. Office Associate Schultz Firefighter Bud Zapata and Misha
Callahan was present and gave a live presentation of (ELSA) Enabling Language Service
Anywhere device.
