Call To Order Chairwoman Finlayson called the meeting to order at 5:04 p.m. Roll Call Present: 3- Alderman Paone, Alderwoman Finlayson and Alderwoman Pindell Charles 2. General Discussion ID-355-16 Update on Body Camera’s Police Chief Pristoop gave a brief update on the test and evaluation of the camera pilot program and spoke on the 8 week camera company trial, the 12 officers testing the camera 24 hours a day, the comprehensive evaluation of the camera company, measures of the battery life, porting, security issues, storage, data retrieval & cost, speed of upload, the partnership with State's Attorney office, State guidelines for camera usage, officer's feedback, the Citywide camera program, the monitoring of cameras, retention of camera data, and answered questions from the committee. This Informational Item was presented ID-356-16 Review of the 2016 City Wide Preparedness Exercise Deputy Fire Chief Simmons gave a review of the 2016 City Wide Preparedness Exercise and spoke on the simulated exercise "Hurricane Anna", succession planning, test shelter manageability of Recreation and Parks staff, the 911 system failure and ELSA (Enabling Language Service Anywhere) and answered questions from the committee. Fire Chief Stokes was present and spoke on the discussion topic and answered questions from the committee. Frank Winter, Volunteer, representing (A.R.E.S) Amateur Radio Emergency Services spoke on the discussion topic and answered questions from the committee. Facility Manager Trader, 92 West Washington Street, Annapolis, Maryland 21401 was also present and answered questions from the committee This Informational Item was presented ID-357-16 Overview of the FY2016 State Homeland Security Grant (SHSG) Deputy Fire Chief Simmons gave an overview of the FY2016 State Homeland Security Grant and spoke on the approval of the grant by the Finance Committee, the grant amount, the grant period, distribution of grant funds and answered from the committee. Fire Chief Stokes was present and spoke on updating the City's radio's, CPR training for City of Annapolis Page 1 Public Safety Committee Standing Committee Minutes September 19, 2016 all city employee's, Epi-pen cost, and answered questions from the committee. Deputy Fire Chief Remaley was also present, spoke on use of Narcan, medical alarms in the Morris Blum Senior Highrise and answered questions from the committee. This Informational Item was presented ID-354-16 Hiring Plan for SAFER Grant (12 Firefighters) Fire Chief Stokes and Deputy Fire Chief Simmons gave a joint overview of the discussion topic and answered questions from the committee.
