Call To Order Chairwoman Finlayson called the meeting to order at 5:06 p.m. Roll Call Present: 3- Alderman Paone, Alderwoman Finlayson and Alderwoman Pindell Charles 2. Business before Committee Approval of Minutes PSC091916 Approval of Minutes for the Regular Meeting Attachments: PSC09.19.16.pdf Alderman Paone moved to approve. Seconded. CARRIED on voice vote. Aye: 3- Alderman Paone, Alderwoman Finlayson and Alderwoman Pindell Charles 3. General Discussion ID-402-16 Announcement of Special Committee Attachments: Mission and Objectives for the Special Committee of the Council.docx Police Chief Pristoop was present and spoke on discussion topic and answered questions from the committee. Acting City Attorney Elson was present spoke on the creation of a sub-committee of Public Safety Committee and answered questions from the committee. Connie Del Signore, 26 West Street, Annapolis, Maryland, 21401 representing the Annapolis and Anne Arundel County Visitor's Bureau was present and spoke on visitor safety and the police department's response. Alderman Paone moved to approve the creation of a sub- committee of the Public Safety Committee. Seconded. CARRIED on voice vote. Alderman Budge was also present and spoke on the creation of the committee. Alderman Littman and Arnett were also present and spoke on the discussion topic. Pristoop and Citizen Talking Points submitted by Al Kirchner. Alderman Littmann was present and spoke on his recent email to the community supporting the Annapolis Police Department. Alderman Kirby was also present and spoke on the discussion topic and answered questions from the committee. ID-398-16 Update of the “2017 Recommendations from the Caucus of African American Leaders” Police Chief Pristoop gave an update on the discussion topic and answered questions from the committee. This Informational Item was presented Alderman Kirby was present and spoke on the Civilian Review Board. ID-400-16 Community Policing Police Chief Pristoop gave an overview of the discussion topic and spoke on problem solving policing, APD initiative, data driven policing, rapid deployment, immediate follow-up, outreach, partnering with the community, geographic responsibility at the command level, the agency structure, community involvement and answered questions from the committee. This Informational Item was presented ID-405-16 Additional Recommendations Police Chief Pristoop was present and spoke on community and officer involvement. Darin Ford, 1903 Towne Center Blvd., Annapolis, Maryland 21401 was present and spoke on community interaction. This Informational Item was presented ID-389-16 General Discussion- Crime Solved Chief of Police Pristoop gave an update on the status of crimes and answered questions from the committee. This Informational Item was presented 4.
