Chambers, Jr. City Council Chambers Public Safety Committee Public Safety Committee Standing Committee Minutes October 1, 2018 1. Call To Order Chairwoman Pindell Charles called the meeting to order at 6:09 p.m. 2. Roll Call Present: 3- Alderwoman Pindell Charles, Alderman Paone and Alderwoman Henson 3. Business before Committee a. Approval of Minutes PSC060418 Approval of Minutes for the Regular Meeting Alderwoman Henson moved to approve. Seconded. A roll call vote was taken. The motion CARRIED by the following vote: Aye: 3- Alderwoman Pindell Charles, Alderman Paone and Alderwoman Henson b. ID-278-18 APD Update: New Community Outreach Programs, and Crime Stats Lt. Krauss was present and answered questions from the committee. c. ID-279-18 AFD Update: Opioid Status, Grant to Purchase Fire Extinguisher Trainer, Status of Projects, Chief Steele Award-Present at next City Council Meeting Fire Chief Stokes and Deputy Fire Chief Simmons were present and answered questions from the committee. ID-281-18 OEM Update: New Grant-Funded Opioid Programs Office of Emergency Management Director Simmons, EMS Captain Edwards, Emergency Planner Hudson, African-American Liaison Ajayi, Lt. Krauss, and Fire Chief Stokes were present and answered questions from the committee. 4. Legislation before Committee O-36-18 Public Peace - Noise Prohibition - For the purpose of making technical corrections to the City of Annapolis Environmental and Motor Vehicle Noise Standards. Lt. Krauss was present and answered questions from the committee. Alderman Paone moved to recommend favorably. Seconded. A roll call vote was taken. The motion CARRIED by the following vote: Aye: 3- Alderwoman Pindell Charles, Alderman Paone and Alderwoman Henson 5.
