Chambers, Jr. City Council Chambers Public Safety Committee Public Safety Committee Standing Committee Minutes November 5, 2018 1. Call To Order Chairwoman Pindell Charles called the meeting to order at 6:08 p.m. 2. Roll Call Present: 3- Alderwoman Pindell Charles, Alderman Paone and Alderwoman Henson 3. Approval of Agenda (any changes to the agenda should be made here) Alderman Paone moved to adopt the Regular Meeting Agenda. Seconded. A roll call vote was taken. The motion CARRIED by the following vote: Aye: 3- Alderwoman Pindell Charles, Alderman Paone and Alderwoman Henson 4. Business before Committee a. Approval of Minutes PSC100118 The Approval of Minutes for the Regular Meeting Alderman Paone moved to approve. Seconded. A roll call vote was taken. The motion CARRIED by the following vote: Aye: 3- Alderwoman Pindell Charles, Alderman Paone and Alderwoman Henson ID-295-18 AFD Presentation (including recognition of Deputy Fire Chief Kevin J. Simmons’ recent “Appointment to the Maryland State Fire Prevention Commission”) Fire Chief Stokes, Deputy Fire Chief Simmons, Office of Emergency Management Office Associate Queen were present and answered questions from the committee. ID-296-18 APD Presentation Police Chief Baker and Lt. Krauss were present and answered questions from the committee. ID-282-18 Presentation: Military Parade and Game, The Honorable Mr. PJ Hogan Senior Vice President Patrick Hogan, representing Cornerstone Government Affairs was present and addressed the committee. 5. Legislation before Committee O-41-18 Emergency Procurement - For the purpose of authorizing the appropriation of funds for an emergency procurement; and for establishing a procedure for the procurement of goods and services during an emergency. Deputy Fire Chief Simmons was present and answered questions from the committee. The Committee would like for the City Manager, Procurement Officer, and the Finance Director to attend the next meeting. Alderman Paone moved to Continue. Seconded. A roll call vote was taken.
