August 12, 2022 (Special) Page 1 of 2 SPECIAL MEETING OF THE ANOKA CITY COUNCIL ANOKA CITY HALL COUNCIL CHAMBERS FRIDAY, AUGUST 12, 2022 AT 7:30 A.M. The meeting was called to order at 7:30 a.m. by Councilmember Jeff Weaver. Present: Councilmembers; Barnett, Skogquist and Weaver. Absent: Mayor Rice and Councilmember Wesp. Staff: Assistant City Manager Amy Oehlers. 3.1 Canvass of August 9, 2022 Municipal Primary Election Results. RESOLUTION NO. 2022-063 This special meeting was held for the purpose of canvassing election returns of the Tuesday, August 9, 2022 Municipal Primary Election, pursuant to Section 4.08 of the Anoka City Charter. Assistant City Manager, Amy Oehlers reviewed the City election returns from the eight precincts for the Mayoral position. Ms. Oehlers presented a summary of the results. Shepard 126 August 12, 2022 (Special) Page 2 of 2 The following named persons, having received the most votes, will be placed on the November 8, 2022 Municipal General Election Ballot for the Mayoral position: Virginia Louden and Phil Rice A motion was made by Councilmember Skogquist and seconded by Councilmember Barnett to adopt the Resolution Canvassing the Municipal Election Returns for the August 9, 2022 Primary Election. Vote taken: All ayes. Ms. Oehlers provided the Council with additional election statistics, results, ballot sample, etc., regarding elections for the City of Anoka. This was provided for informational purposes only. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business to come before the Anoka City Council at this Special Meeting, Councilmember Skogquist made a motion to adjourn the meeting, Councilmember Barnett seconded the motion.
