Call to Order Chair Gerstner called the meeting to order. B. Pledge of Allegiance The commission said the Pledge of Allegiance. C. Roll Call Present 5- Chairperson Gerstner Vice Chair Borey Commissioner Erickson Commissioner Kinner Commissioner Mitchell Staff in Attendance: Jennifer Pena, City Clerk Jill Bright, Deputy City Clerk D. Approval of Agenda 1. 21-088 Consideration of approval of agenda. Commissioner Erickson moved, seconded by Commissioner Mitchell that the Health and Human Services Commission agenda be approved as presented. Yes: 5- Commissioner Mitchell, Vice Chair Borey, Commissioner Kinner, Commissioner Erickson and Chairperson Gerstner No: 0 E. Approval of Minutes 2. 21-089 Consideration of approval of regular meeting minutes of December 17, 2020. Commissioner Kinner moved, seconded by Commissioner Borey that the meeting minutes of December 17, 2020 be approved. Yes: 5- Commissioner Mitchell, Vice Chair Borey, Commissioner Kinner, Commissioner Erickson and Chairperson Gerstner No: 0 F. Public Hearings City of Apache Junction, Arizona Page 1 Health and Human Services Meeting Minutes March 22, 2021 Commission G. Old Business H. New Business 3. 21-087 Presentation and discussion on the applications submitted for Fiscal Year 2021-2022 funding. City Clerk Jennifer Pena presented the five organizations that applied for Fiscal Year 2021-2022 funding and what the next steps in the process will be. The commission reviewed and discussed the five applications that were received. 4. 21-128 Discussion and possible consideration of scheduling a special commission meeting in April to interview applicants. Interviews are not mandatory but can be done if requested by the commission. Commissioner Mitchell moved, seconded by Commissioner Kinner that a special commission meeting to interview applicants is not necessary as the commission does not wish to interview any applicants this year. Commissioners will submit any questions via e-mail if they would like any clarification. Yes: 5- Commissioner Mitchell, Vice Chair Borey, Commissioner Kinner, Commissioner Erickson and Chairperson Gerstner No: 0 City Clerk Jennifer Pena shared a couple dates that are available for a meeting. The commission discussed if a meeting is necessary and decided that they would submit questions via e-mail to city staff to pass on to the applicants if they wish for clarification on any applications. I. Information and Reports Commissioner Erickson shared that Horizon Health & Wellness has spots available for their upcoming mental health first aid trainings. Commissioner Mitchell shared an upcoming event hosted by the local Superstition Mountain Rotary Club. J. Staff Liaison's Report City Clerk Jennifer Pena has nothing to report. K. Selection of Meeting Dates, Times, Location and Purpose 5. 21-090 The regularly scheduled commission meetings are the fourth Monday of each month at 5:00pm in the city council chambers located at 300 E. Information and Reports The chair at this time may announce information regarding activities involving Health and Human Services matters, such as, but not limited to attendance of commission members at community meetings or events, seminars or conferences, or upcoming events or conferences. J. Staff Liaison's Report The City Clerk, members of City staff or those individuals designated by the Manager, may present information pertinent to items under consideration or information related to the operation of the City. K.
